By-Laws of Prairie Feline Fanciers


ARTICLE IV - AFFILIATION

Section 1. This club shall be affiliated with American Cat Fanciers Association (ACFA).

Section 2. The Club will operate in accordance with the Constitution and By-laws of ACFA, except when local conditions and limitations require alternate policy and procedures, as defined herein.

Section 3. Not less than five members of the club including the President and Secretary shall be members of the American Cat Fanciers Association.

ARTICLE V - LOCATION

Section 1. This club is intended primarily to serve the interests of owners, fanciers and breeders of cats from Provinces and States within the Northern Plains Region. We also welcome and encourage membership from those Provinces and States, which border on the Northern Plains Region.

ARTICLE VI - MEETINGS

Section 1. Regular monthly meetings shall be held on such dates and at such time and place as the Board of Directors shall designate, which may include electronic venues when needed.

Section 2. Special meetings may be called from time to time if necessary for the transaction of important business, and may be called by the President, Board of Directors or upon written demand of five members. The business at this meeting shall be limited to that mentioned in the call.

Section 3. All reasonable effort shall be made to notify Members of the time and place of all meetings. Notice of the next meeting may be given to all those in attendance at the regular meetings. The Corresponding Secretary will give notice in person, by mail, telephone, e-mail or in a newsletter if one is in publication. Members will also be advised of meetings on the clubs web site. Notification of meetings must be given at least five days before the meeting is scheduled to occur.

Section 4. Meetings may be held in the Members Only Forum located on the Prairie Feline Fanciers web page or in the official Yahoo Group of the Club (PrairieFelineFanciers).

Section 5. The Board of Directors shall ensure that the date, time and place for the Annual General Meeting will be coordinated to take place the weekend of the Annual Show. Should it happen that there is no Annual Show or for some reason a meeting is inconvenient at show time, then the Annual General Meeting shall be held on such a date, time and place as the Board of Directors shall designate.

Section 6. Five voting members with at least one of which being a current board member, will constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.

Section 7. All meetings shall be governed by the parliamentary authority of Baronet's or Roberts' Rules of Order Revised. Minutes/Record of Decision of all Club Executive and membership meetings will be maintained.
